Basetec was contracted by Allwater to see if we could propose an alternative material to 316 Stainless Steel for the supply of Launder Troughs for the Little Para and Barossa Water Treatment Plant. Basetec proposed a light-weight composite alternative that saved the
clients significant amounts of money on material supply and installation costs.

After a detailed design process, Basetec was able to achieve the required engineering tolerances as set out by SA Water, Each launder went through a deflection and mechanical testing regime, which easily met the project specifications.

Basetec carried out supply and installation across both water filtration sites. All Water and SA Water required a design life of a 50 years minimum with a 1.SkN trafficable load.
